Connected financial data
How connected financial data would work
Plaid is not enabled in dozzop Production. This draft describes the reviewed M11 design so the owner can evaluate it before any live connection.
Draft effective and last updated July 28, 2026
The connection flow
dozzop intends to use Plaid to let the owner connect selected financial accounts. Plaid Link handles the normal institution authentication experience. dozzop should not receive the owner's bank password through that flow, and the owner chooses which available accounts to share.
Data requested and why
The intended Plaid product is Transactions only. The current design requests up to 90 days of initial transaction history and stores a purpose-limited normalized view rather than a raw Plaid response.
- Institution and account metadata, including name, type, subtype, partial mask, sharing status, and consent state.
- Current and available balances, credit or overdraft limit when supplied, currency, and the time the balance was observed.
- Transaction name or merchant, category hints, amount, currency, date/time fields, payment channel, and pending status.
This information is used to show connected activity, identify items needing attention, and offer deterministic classifications or possible matches for the owner to review.
Synchronization and freshness
After the initial history request, dozzop uses cursor-based incremental synchronization. A future authorized setup may react to verified webhooks, owner-requested refreshes, and scheduled runs. Balances and transactions may be delayed or incomplete, and pending activity can change when it posts.
Changing which accounts are shared affects future visibility and synchronization. Previously normalized history is not automatically erased.
Authored plans remain authoritative
Connected activity is observed evidence. Authored Finance accounts, bills, debts, subscriptions, income, allocations, and other plan records remain separate.
- Observed activity does not rewrite authored obligations.
- dozzop does not automatically declare a bill or debt paid.
- Suggested classifications, account mappings, and reconciliation matches require owner confirmation.
No money movement or M11 AI
The present design does not initiate payments, transfers, lending, underwriting, or credit decisions. M11 connected-financial-data interpretation is deterministic and does not use AI. Separate optional AI features elsewhere in dozzop do not change this boundary.
Disconnect and retained history
Disconnecting asks Plaid to remove the remote Item, deletes dozzop's encrypted access credential, marks connected accounts disconnected, and stops future synchronization. The current design retains normalized historical transactions and related review/audit history until a separate deletion process is completed.
